Summer Time 2010!!!
We at Golden Pond are very excited to announce that on July 1, 2010, we officially
began our new partnership with Senior Living Residences, who are providing multiple
levels of dementia care in their new program, Compass Memory Support at
Golden Pond.
This new partnership will allow us to continue meeting the needs of the residents of
Hopkinton and the surrounding communities who need specialized dementia care. All
of our programs continue to thrive, even in these difficult economic times because of
the quality of care that you have come to expect from Golden Pond. We are very
excited that we can offer the quality, care and compassion we provide every day to
that many more of you.
Our wonderful Activities Department continues to plan many trips out each week in
our beautiful new 14 passenger van! There is also quite a buzz in the air here about
our new brain fitness program, developed just for seniors; this program actually self-
adjusts the level of challenge in real time so that individuals are stimulated with fun
brain games at their level. Exercising the brain as we know will help stave off
cognitive decline, but research has shown that a consistent, long-term participation
in a cognitive stimulation program can actually reduce the risk of dementia by 60%.
We have begun to roll out this program with our residents both in groups and alone.
If you have any questions about this exciting new tool please contact either Bill Marr
or me.
We recently took another trip to the Tower Hill - Botanical Gardens where we were
able to enjoy breath-taking views and gorgeous flowers. It is no wonder why this
become a preferred excursion for many of our Residents. Art group, exercise with
Sundance Rehabilitation, (who are located right in our building!) communion, prayer
meetings, trips to library and more will continue throughout the summer months.
The children in our Golden Goose Academy continue to take part in our regular
exercise classes as well as joining us for games and crafts throughout the summer
which we always enjoy. They have also been entertaining us with many patriotic
songs as we continue to celebrate not only our country’s birth date but also two very
special birthdays those of Golden Pond and Golden Goose Academy which have been
open for eighteen years! We are very proud of our longevity and our successes in
both areas.
We also had a very special group of guests recently, the children from the Elmwood
Elementary school in Hopkinton who came once again to interview our residents
and write bios of them. They then came back with a slide show and everyone got to
see themselves ‘on the big screen.’ Many of our Residents really enjoy this activity so
we would like to thank them for thinking of us once again!
Thank you for visiting our web site. Please visit all of the different pages to learn
more about our vast array of services, and then use the Contact Us page, or call us
for additional information, or to schedule a tour of our facilities and meet our staff.
Sincerely,
Shelley Ryan
